About Honda
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is a fully owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company and the second–largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India with over 60 million vehicles sold in the country.
Honda is a dominant player in the 110-125cc scooter segment with the Activa being the highest-selling scooter in the country. The company also has its presence in the 110-180cc mass market motorcycles segment with the Honda
125 being the number one 125cc bike in India. In the premium 250cc and above segment,
has the CB350 line-up, which rivals the Royal Enfield 350 range.
Honda also retails a range of premium bikes through its BigWing dealerships. It has a motorcycle in every engine displacement and price bracket – from a 300cc roadster to a 750cc middleweight ADV, and even a 1,833cc, six-cylinder cruiser. Some of the most well-known motorcycles from the bike maker are the Africa Twin, Gold Wing Tour, and the Transalp.
Honda motorcycles are known for their innovation, reliability, and handling. The company deserves credit for pioneering the scooter segment in the country through the Honda Activa range of scooters. The company manufactures a wide range of two-wheelers at its four production facilities – Manesar in Gurgaon, Narsapura in Karnataka, Tapukara in Rajasthan, and the new Vithalapur unit in Gujarat.
Honda has planned a variety of new bikes for India, but the most anticipated one is the Activa Electric, which will be introduced in 2025.
