BMW Motorrad India has launched the 2025 version of the S 1000 R in India at an introductory price of Rs. 19.90 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated superbike comes with notable visual and mechanical enhancements over its predecessor, designed to enhance performance and rider experience. At the heart of the S 1000 R is a 999cc, liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine generating 170 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm. The bike accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
BMW has revised the engine port geometry and shortened the final-drive ratio to deliver improved acceleration. The bike features advanced technology including Headlight Pro with daytime running lights, M Quick Action throttle, multiple riding modes, ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, and a 6.5-inch TFT display with connectivity and navigation capabilities. Safety is enhanced with BMW’s intelligent emergency call system (E-Call). Practical features include a USB Type-C charger conveniently located under the seat.
The design of the S 1000 R exudes aggression with sharp tank extensions, a sculpted fuel tank, and an exposed subframe. Riders can customize their experience with optional packages such as Dynamic, Comfort, and M Sport, which offer premium features like cruise control, heated grips, shift assistant, M lightweight battery, and forged wheels. The bike is available in three striking color options.
