Ather Unveils EL01 Concept, Showcases Next-Gen EL Platform

Ather Energy has taken the wraps off the EL01 concept at its Community Day 2025, offering a glimpse into the company’s upcoming EL platform that will underpin a new family of electric scooters. The EL platform has been designed to be modular and scalable, making it adaptable for different scooter models in the future. Built around a unibody steel chassis, it promises durability, faster assembly, and reduced maintenance costs, thanks to its simpler component layout. The setup also integrates a swingarm-mounted electric motor, enhancing efficiency and ride stability.

The EL01 concept itself highlights Ather’s vision for a more family-oriented scooter. It features a longer wheelbase and a wider seat for improved comfort, especially for two-up riding. Safety has also been prioritised, with the inclusion of Ather’s new Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) that reduces stopping distances and minimises the risk of rear-wheel lockups. Another notable innovation is the Charge Drive Controller, which merges the on-board charger with the motor controller.

This eliminates the need for bulky portable chargers, streamlining the charging process for users. Ather confirmed that the first production model based on the new EL platform will debut next year during the festive season, marking the beginning of a fresh product line tailored to modern urban mobility needs.
