CFMoto 450MT India Launch Delayed for E20 Fuel Compliance; New Timeline Awaited

CFMoto has postponed the highly anticipated launch of its 450MT adventure tourer in India, citing the need to comply with new government regulations mandating E20 fuel compatibility. Originally slated for a festive season debut, the brand’s global engineering team is currently working to remap and adjust the 450MT’s engine to run efficiently on 20% ethanol-blended petrol as per the latest norms. Pre-launch rides and early impressions of the 450MT have been positive, especially considering its robust 449cc parallel-twin engine producing 44bhp and 44Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a distinctive 270-degree firing order. However, the actual launch date will only be announced after these technical updates are completed, with CFMoto’s Indian partner expected to make the official statement soon.

The CFMoto 450MT will arrive via the CKD route, attracting a 10% customs duty and a 40% GST slab, making aggressive pricing essential for success. If launched around Rs. 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), it could prove a strong contender against the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and the upcoming BMW F450GS in the adventure bike segment.
