Hero Xoom 160 Deliveries Kick Off in September After Long Wait

Hero MotoCorp is all set to begin deliveries of its much-awaited Hero Xoom 160 maxi-scooter in September 2025, bringing a new sporty option to the Indian scooter market after a delay of nearly six months since its launch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. Priced at around ₹1.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Xoom 160 is powered by a peppy 156cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder petrol engine delivering a robust 14.6 bhp and 14 Nm of torque. This pairs with a CVT automatic transmission and Hero’s acclaimed i3S silent start technology for smooth city cruising. Sporting a sharp and muscular design inspired by adventure bikes, the Xoom 160 features a tall flyscreen, block-pattern 14-inch wheels, dual-chamber LED headlamps, and a spacious profile optimized for rider comfort and urban versatility.

The maxi-scooter styling offers a relaxed riding posture ideal for both daily commutes and weekend rides. Key features include a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, keyless ignition with remote seat opening, front disc brake with ABS, telescopic front suspension, and dual rear shock absorbers ensuring a confident and controlled ride. The Hero Xoom 160 will be retailed through Hero’s premium Premia dealerships and faces competition from rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155, Aprilia SXR 160, and upcoming scooters like the TVS Ntorq 150. Bookings for the Xoom 160 commenced earlier this year with a token amount of ₹7,500, and the much-anticipated deliveries signify Hero’s entry into the mid-sized maxi-scooter segment, targeting riders seeking performance-oriented and stylish scooters.
