Honda has made a landmark move in the electric motorcycle segment with the global unveiling of the all-new WN7, its first full-sized sports electric motorcycle. Building on over 75 years of motorcycle innovation, the WN7 combines Honda’s legendary engineering and state-of-the-art electric drive technology, targeted at riders seeking high performance with environmental consciousness. True to its name, the WN7 brings a naked, minimalist design inspired by the “Wind” concept, marked by sharp lines and futuristic aesthetics. Under its sleek bodywork, the WN7 employs an 18kW water-cooled motor, delivering power on par with a 600cc internal combustion engine and a remarkable 100Nm of torque—figures that even rival some 1000cc bikes.
This promises a lively, spirited riding experience both in the city and on open roads. A fixed lithium-ion battery ensures an estimated riding range of over 130 km on a single charge. Honda’s adoption of the CCS2 fast-charging standard allows a 20-80% top-up in just 30 minutes, while a home charger gets it from 0-100% in under three hours, providing riders with peace of mind and flexibility. The WN7’s kerb weight stands at 217 kg.
Technologically advanced, the bike features a 5-inch full-colour TFT display equipped with Honda RoadSync for integrated smartphone connectivity, navigation, calls, and notifications. Additional highlights include all-LED lighting, a single-sided swingarm, spacious 20-litre underseat storage, and (reportedly) cruise control. Available in three colour options, the WN7 will first go on sale in the UK at £12,999 (approx. ₹15.5 lakh), followed by other European markets. There is an A1-licence friendly variant under development to make the motorcycle accessible to a wider audience.
Indian enthusiasts, however, will have to wait, as Honda has currently ruled out launching the WN7 in India.
