Jawa Motorcycles has announced substantial price reductions for its popular models following the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) rationalisation. The Indian government lowered the GST rate on motorcycles under 350cc from 28% to 18%, leading to price cuts on flagship models including the Jawa 42, Jawa 350, 42 Bobber, 42 FJ, and Perak. New Prices and Savings The Jawa 42 now starts at ₹1,59,431, down from its former price of ₹1,72,942. The Jawa 350 is priced at ₹1,83,407, previously listed at ₹1,98,950.
The Jawa 42 Bobber’s price is now ₹1,93,133, reduced from ₹2,09,500. The Jawa 42 FJ has fallen to ₹1,93,725 from ₹2,10,142. The Jawa Perak offers the highest savings, now ₹1,99,775 against its earlier ₹2,16,705 price. All major Jawa models are now available at under ₹2 lakh, making these mid-segment classics more accessible for enthusiasts across the country.
Key Benefits for Customers The new ex-showroom prices mean immediate savings between ₹13,000 and ₹17,000, depending on the specific model and variant. Jawa continues to provide a standard 4-year/50,000 km warranty across its range, with options for extended warranty and roadside assistance for up to six years. All motorcycles are powered by robust, liquid-cooled Alpha2 engines – either a 293cc (27bhp) or a 334cc (29bhp) unit, ensuring both performance and reliability. Industry Impact This move comes just ahead of the festive season, providing a timely boost to customer sentiment and the broader motorcycle market.
The GST reform not only reduces the cost burden on buyers but also aims to revitalize the mid-capacity motorcycle segment by making iconic machines like the Jawa more affordable for young and aspiring riders.
