Kawasaki Z650, Ninja 650, Z650RS, Versys 650 Get Dearer by Up to Rs. 55,000
BikeRaja News · 24 September 2025
Kawasaki's popular 650cc motorcycle lineup in India has seen a significant price increase following the government's revised GST structure for two-wheelers above 350cc. The GST rate has gone up from 28% to 40% effective 22 September, resulting in higher ex-showroom prices across Kawasaki's 650cc portfolio. The Versys 650 is hit hardest, with its price rising by Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 8.48 lakh. Its siblings have also been affected: the Z650 (naked streetfighter) now costs Rs. 7.26 lakh (+Rs. 47,000), the Z650RS (modern classic) is priced at Rs. 7.69 lakh (+Rs. 49,000), and the Ninja 650 (sports tourer) stands at Rs. 7.77 lakh (+Rs. 50,000).
Despite different styling cues and body genres, all four bikes share the reliable 649cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine producing approximately 67.3bhp and 64Nm, along with a six-speed gearbox. Known for their versatility and responsive performance, these motorcycles remain popular but now command a much higher price tag due to the new tax regime.
