Norton Halts Production of Flagship Models as TVS-Backed New Lineup Nears

Norton Motorcycles has officially ceased production of its iconic V4SV, V4CR, and Commando 961 models, marking the end of an important chapter in the legendary British brand’s modern history. The announcement, made from Norton’s Solihull, UK headquarters, signals the company’s intention to pave the way for an all-new generation of motorcycles set to debut later this year. The final units of these revered bikes have rolled off the production line, with remaining Commando 961s already allocated to dealers and a limited “last-of-the-line” collector series being prepared. Norton reports a high demand for these models among enthusiasts and collectors, and is offering finance packages for the final deliveries.

According to Executive Director Richard Arnold, these three models were “revered the world over as the latest in a long line of iconic Norton motorcycles.” He emphasized that, “As one chapter ends, another begins…” and teased an exciting future, with new models expected to showcase a completely new design language and bold performance ambitions. Norton, now backed by the resources and expertise of TVS Motor Company, plans to unveil its next-generation product line at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan. The renewed lineup is expected to include a 1200cc flagship superbike and other midsize models, representing Norton’s bid to reclaim a leadership role in the premium global motorcycle market. This strategic pause in production reflects the brand’s intent to evolve, modernize, and appeal to a new era of riders while honoring its rich heritage.

As anticipation builds for the November launch, Norton fans and the broader motorcycle community await a fresh wave of innovation, style, and performance from this celebrated British marque.
