Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Spotted Testing: A More Powerful Café Racer May Arrive in 2026

Royal Enfield appears to be preparing a significant upgrade to its iconic café racer lineup with the development of the upcoming Continental GT 750. The motorcycle is expected to deliver improved performance, enhanced technology, and refined engineering while continuing to follow the brand’s traditional retro-inspired design philosophy. Over the past several months, the motorcycle has reportedly been spotted undergoing road tests both in India and international markets, indicating that development is progressing steadily toward a possible global debut around 2026. The upcoming Continental GT 750 is expected to sit above the current Continental GT 650, which has been one of Royal Enfield’s most successful modern motorcycles since its launch.

By introducing a new 750cc platform, the company aims to expand its presence in the global middleweight motorcycle segment. This platform is expected to form the foundation for multiple future models, allowing Royal Enfield to strengthen its portfolio of performance-focused motorcycles designed for international markets. A major highlight of the upcoming motorcycle will be its new 750cc parallel-twin engine, which is believed to be a larger and more refined evolution of the current 648cc twin-cylinder engine used in the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650. The existing 650cc motor produces approximately 47 horsepower and 52 Nm of torque, but early reports suggest that the new 750cc engine could generate around 55 to 60 horsepower along with torque figures approaching 60–65 Nm.

Such an increase in output would provide stronger acceleration, improved highway cruising capability, and a more engaging riding experience for performance enthusiasts. The new engine is expected to be paired with a six-speed gearbox, likely featuring a slipper clutch to ensure smoother gear transitions during aggressive riding or downshifting. Fuel injection technology will also be optimized to deliver improved throttle response and efficiency, making the motorcycle suitable for both spirited rides and longer highway journeys. With the increase in engine performance, Royal Enfield is also expected to introduce important upgrades to the motorcycle’s chassis, suspension, and braking systems.

Spy photographs of the test prototype indicate that the Continental GT 750 may feature dual front disc brakes, marking a notable improvement over the single-disc braking setup found on the current GT 650. The braking hardware is expected to use ByBre callipers, which are designed to provide stronger stopping power and improved safety at higher speeds. The motorcycle is also likely to be equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with high-performance Vredestein tyres, which should enhance grip and cornering stability. Suspension duties will likely be handled by telescopic front forks paired with twin rear shock absorbers.

Royal Enfield may also refine the frame geometry to improve high-speed stability and sharper handling characteristics, both of which are essential for a café racer-style motorcycle built for dynamic road riding. Despite these mechanical improvements, the design of the Continental GT 750 is expected to remain faithful to the classic styling that has defined the model since its introduction. Early spy images suggest the motorcycle will retain its distinctive café racer elements, including a round LED headlamp, clip-on handlebars, sculpted fuel tank, twin exhaust system, and minimalist rear section. The overall riding position will likely maintain the aggressive forward-leaning stance typical of traditional café racer motorcycles, offering riders a sporty and engaging riding posture.

At the same time, Royal Enfield is expected to incorporate several modern technological features to align the motorcycle with contemporary middleweight offerings. The Continental GT 750 could include LED lighting throughout, a digital or TFT instrument cluster, ride-by-wire throttle technology, dual-channel ABS, and traction control systems. These features would enhance rider safety and convenience while maintaining the motorcycle’s classic identity. Industry speculation suggests that the Continental GT 750 may make its first public appearance at major international motorcycle exhibitions such as EICMA, before eventually reaching the Indian market later in 2026.

If launched in India, the motorcycle is expected to be priced between ₹3.8 lakh and ₹3.9 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it above the Continental GT 650 but still within the competitive range of the mid-size performance motorcycle segment. With the introduction of this new platform, Royal Enfield appears to be preparing for a broader expansion of its twin-cylinder lineup. The 750cc engine architecture could potentially power future models such as an Interceptor 750 roadster and a Himalayan 750 adventure motorcycle, helping the company strengthen its position in the growing global demand for retro-styled middleweight motorcycles. If these expectations materialize, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 could become one of the most powerful café racer motorcycles the brand has ever produced, combining classic styling with modern engineering to appeal to riders seeking both heritage and performance in a single machine.
