BikeRaja News · 1 September 2025
Royal Enfield’s much-anticipated entry into the electric two-wheeler market has taken a big step forward, with the Flying Flea C6 (FF C6) electric motorcycle spotted testing on the streets of Chennai city. This marks one of the first times the production-ready test mule has been seen on Indian roads, signaling that the iconic brand is moving steadily toward its official launch timeline. Retro Meets Electric Innovation The FF C6 draws heavy inspiration from Royal Enfield’s WWII-era “Flying Flea” motorcycle. Staying true to its heritage, the bike carries classic design elements like a round headlamp, girder-style front forks, and a teardrop-shaped tank design.
At the same time, it integrates modern EV styling, blending vintage aesthetics with futuristic technology. Technical Highlights Lightweight Frame: The bike is built on an aluminum frame with a magnesium battery casing, enhancing both strength and thermal efficiency. Performance & Safety: It is expected to deliver power equivalent to a 125–150cc petrol bike, with features like belt drive, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, traction control, and possibly cornering ABS. Tech-Packed Console: A round full-TFT digital display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, and advanced infotainment features is expected to be part of the package.
Range Expectations: Market speculation suggests a riding range of around 100–150 km on a single charge, aimed at urban commuting and short-distance touring. Launch Timeline and Price Royal Enfield has officially confirmed that its first electric bike will debut in Q4 FY 2026 (January–March 2026), with the FF C6 leading the way, followed by the scrambler-styled S6 variant. The FF C6 is expected to be priced in the range of ₹2 lakh to ₹3 lakh, positioning it as a premium yet accessible option for riders transitioning to electric mobility. The Road Ahead The Chennai sighting confirms that the motorcycle is undergoing final rounds of testing under Indian conditions.
With its unique retro-modern identity and Royal Enfield’s established brand presence, the Flying Flea C6 could set a new benchmark in the mid-segment electric bike space.
