VLF Mobster 135 Scooter Launched in India at Rs 1.30 Lakh: Italy-Inspired Design Mee

VLF, the Italian-origin two-wheeler brand brought to India by Kolhapur-based Motohaus, has officially launched the Mobster 135 scooter at an introductory price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). This launch marks VLF’s entry into the petrol-powered scooter segment in India, delivering a blend of unique design, robust performance, and premium features. The Mobster 135 is notable for being India’s smallest liquid-cooled scooter, powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine that produces 12.1PS at 8,250 rpm and 11.7Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, offering a claimed top speed of 100 kmph. This performance places it ahead of typical 125cc scooters, catering to riders seeking a powerful and agile ride.

Distinctive design sets the Mobster 135 apart, drawing inspiration from Italy’s Italjet with cyberpunk and futuristic aesthetics. The scooter features sharp, angular panels, a tall windscreen, and exposed handlebars, emphasizing an aggressive and urban look. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 front and 130/70 rear tyres, equipped with a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers for enhanced ride quality. The Mobster is stacked with premium features, including dual-channel switchable ABS, keyless ignition, a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity supporting turn-by-turn navigation and call alerts, and even traction control that can be switched off for versatile riding conditions.

Optional accessories include a dashcam, underlining the scooter’s tech-forward approach. In terms of dimensions, the Mobster has a kerb weight of 122 kg, a seat height of 797 mm, and a ground clearance of 155 mm, making it slightly taller than many competitors but accessible for most riders. The scooter boasts a generous 8-litre fuel tank, promising good range for daily commuting. Motohaus currently operates a limited dealership network in India, and the introductory price of Rs 1.30 lakh is available for the first 2,500 customers, after which pricing may rise.

The Mobster 135 competes with models like the TVS Ntorq 125, Hero Xoom 160, and Yamaha Aerox 155, offering a distinctive Italian flair combined with cutting-edge technology, although at a premium price point. Bookings have already begun, with deliveries expected to start from November 2025. The VLF Mobster 135 is a promising choice for those who value design, advanced features, and spirited performance in the 125cc scooter segment in India.
