Yamaha XSR155 Debuts in India: Neo-Retro Style and Four Distinct Colours

Yamaha has entered the 150cc neo-retro motorcycle segment in India with the launch of the XSR155. Priced competitively at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this new model is set to attract riders looking for a blend of classic styling and modern performance. Significantly lighter than its siblings, the MT-15 and R15, the XSR155 tips the scale at just 137kg (kerb), making it agile and accessible, especially with its 810mm seat height. The standout feature of the XSR155 is the vibrant range of four colour options: Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic, and Metallic Blue.

Each variant is designed to appeal to different rider personalities — from understated elegance and sporty flare to rugged old-school charm and modern sophistication. Under the tank, the XSR155 gets a robust 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation technology, delivering 18.1 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque. Paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring assist and slipper clutch, the bike offers smooth shifts and enhanced riding comfort. The Deltabox frame ensures solid construction, while upside-down forks at the front and a linked monoshock at the rear support confidence-inspiring handling.

Safety is another highlight, with dual-channel ABS and traction control provided as standard, complemented by disc brakes at both ends. The overall package positions the XSR155 as an attractive option for riders seeking style, performance, and the reassurance of advanced safety features.
